Read About Xerxes

Dr. López-Yglesias joined Brechtel in 2013 after completing post-doctoral research at Sandia Laboratories on the properties of soot and his PhD in the Seinfeld/Flagan group at Caltech. His research and development activities are focused on exploring new aerosol measurement techniques spanning black carbon, cloud condensation nucleus counters, water uptake, particle sizing and charging. Xerxes’ background in aerosol science and his “hands-on” scientific approach to technology development fits in perfectly at Brechtel – where we use our various fabrication tools to rapidly prototype and test new ideas. Originally trained in physics, Xerxes’ strong theoretical background is complemented by a practical approach to solving tech development challenges.
