UAV sampling in harsh environments

Partnering with scientists at NOAA, team developed a compact suite of four UAV-deployable aerosol instruments that became our ACCESS line. Over 100 flight hours of data over the Arctic island of Svalbard were obtained from two instrument packages over a four-year period. Results showed the importance of long-range transport of soot to the Arctic from seasonal forest fires at lower latitudes.
