Aerosol scientists and air monitoring experts have come to rely on our Particle into Liquid Sampler (PILS) for ambient chemical composition measurements. The BMI PILS has been used by researchers at the California Institute of Technology, NOAA Pacific Marine Environment Laboratory, Environment Canada, University of California at Davis, and NOAA Earth Sciences Research Laboratory.

Particle into liquid sampler (PILS)

The turnkey PILS is easy to use for water-soluble inorganic and organic aerosol chemical composition measurements. The PILS measures PM1 or PM2.5 water-soluble aerosol species with time resolution from 30 seconds to 12 hours. Benefits of the PILS include:

• Up to 19 days of unattended continuous operation

• Quantitative, peer-reviewed sampling efficiency

• Integrated fraction collector to fill vials for off-line analysis
