BMI fabricates a turn-key, easy-to-use PILS (Particle into Liquid Sampler) for water-soluble aerosol chemical composition measurements.
Key features of the BMI-PILS include:
- Measurement of PM1 or PM2.5 water soluble aerosol species with time resolution from one minute to twelve hours
- Integrated data system and custom control software for fully automated operation
- NEW - Large Vial Auto Collector Carousel for long term sampling
(allows up to two weeks of unattended sampling)
- Fully quantified aerosol sampling efficiency
- Off-line and/or On-line sample collection
(on-line analysis with user-supplied ion chromatograph)
- Auto-collector option for off-line analysis
(sample vial sizes: 1, 2, 10 or 20 ml)
- Multiple analytical techniques (ie LC/MS) can be applied to a single collected vial sample
- Automated flow control option with low pressure drop valve
- Custom pre-impactor with customer-specified diameter cutpoint
- Integrated zero-air background check system
- Rack-mount and laboratory bench top versions
- Robust design ready for aircraft deployment
- Optional remote-control software allows full control of the PILS by a host computer
- Optional stand-alone auto-collector software allows you to interface the auto-collector with other systems
