BMI fabricates a series of five different laminar flow elements (LFE) using 1/8" OD stainless steel tubing for precise volumetric flow control of air flow rates between 0.05 and 20 lpm. Very small pressure monitoring ports are machined into the tubes to prevent flow disturbances related to the differential pressure measurements.

Key features of the LFE design include:

• Proper accounting for entrance-length effects so that the flow calibration is independent of pressure
• Convenient hose barb connections for differential pressure sensor hook up
• Large inside diameters that are more tracteable for flows containing particles
• Pressure drops between 0.1 and 4" water allowing the use of commercial-off-the shelf dP sensors
• Optional integrated temperature sensor for proper temperature compensation of flow measurement
• Optional integrated differential pressure sensor for pressure drop measurement across the two pressure monitoring ports
• High quality differential pressure sensor option includes temperature compensation
• Optional brackets for easy installation of the LFE into existing instrumentation
